Bishop Peter Byrne, Spiritual Advisor
Bishop Peter Byrne is currently Episcopal Vicar for Dutchess, Putnam and Northern Westchester counties. He is co-vicar for the Hispanic Apostolate and has oversight over pro-life activities, youth, and the missions. After ordination in 1984, the now Bishop Byrne served for eight years as a Parochial Vicar at St. Teresa of Avila in Sleepy Hollow, two years as Administor of St. Thomas Aquinas in the Bronx, and nineteen years as Administrator and Pastor of Immaculate Conception on Staten Island. During his time on Staten Island, he was very involved with the Hispanic Apostolate, the evangelization of youth and the Respect life Vicariate. After one year as Pastor at St. Elizabeth's he was selected by Pope Francis to be an Auxiliary Bishop.
Sr. Marie Pappas, C.R.
Sr. Marie Pappas, C.R. is a Sister of the Resurrection of the New York Province. She currently serves as Director of Religious Education at St. Columba Parish in Hopewell Junction, N.Y. and is the weeky host of Pathways of Learning on The Catholic Channel of SiriusXM Radio, 129. (Listen Saturday at 7am and 6pm, and Tuesday at 1pm) Sister Marie has served at Maria Regina Archdiocesan High School in Hartsdale, NY as Religion Department Chair, Moderator of News and Views and its Catholic Leadership Group. She has served as Acting Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of New York, Associate Superintendent for Mission Effectiveness and Religious Education, and as Associate Secretary for Education.
Deacon Mark O'Sullivan
Deacon Mark O'Sullivan graduated from West Islip High School on Long Island in June 1970. Attended Siena College in Loundonville, NY, graduating in May 1974 with a BS in accounting. Mark married his college sweetheart, Susan Conrad, at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie NY, on August 10, 1974. He began working in public accounting in 1974 in Poughkeepsie, NY. In 1978 he received his CPA license from NYS. In 1982 Mark became a partner in Sedore and O'Sullivan CPAs, becoming the managing partner in 2004 until retirement in May of 2014. Mark O'Sullivan was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons in June 2002 and is assigned to Regina Coeli Church in Hyde Park, NY. Dcn. Mark and his wife, Susan, are the proud parents of five daughters, and grandparents of fourteen children.
Andrew Humphreys, Esq.
Andrew Humphreys, Esq. is a parishioner at St Kateri Tekakwitha. He married his beautiful wife, Andrea, in 1989, and they have four adult children. He was fortunate to attend the excellent Catholic institutions of Chaminade High School and the University of Scranton. Andrew went on to obtain his law degree at Hofstra Law School.
Andrew is a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, St Mary's Council. He is the Respect Life Coordinator at St Kateri & a member of the Tri Parish Respect Life Committee with St Columba & St Denis. He is honored to serve as a Eucharistic minister at his parish, St Kateri & at St. Columba, his first parish in the Mid-Hudson region.
Doris Krohn Harrington, Treasurer
Doris Krohn Harrington is a member of Regina Coeli Parish in Hyde Park, where she serves as Coordinator of the Culture of Life Committee and is a member of the RCIA Team and Choir. She is originally from Queens NY and educated by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood NY for twelve years, her undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Long Island University.
Mrs. Harrington and her husband Raymond, have raised their five children in the Mid-Hudson Valley.
Ed McKenna, Co-Chairmen
Ed McKenna is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4065 in Fishkill NY. He and Kara, late bloomers, celebrated their 28th in October 2019.
Ed has been retired from IBM since 1999. At IBM he served as a mainframe programmer, manager, and network administrator. His favorite assignment involved installing a manufacturing information system in Mainz, Germany, 1974-75. He studied Psychology at Catholic University, receiving his BA in 1969 and later received his MSCS at Marist in ’85 and taught graduate classes there for a couple of years.
Following retirement, he was Director of Technology at Our Lady of Lourdes HS in Poughkeepsie (2000-2002). He followed that with a business of repairing PCs and installing networks. He built Windows systems from components, but now prefers to use the synergistic offerings from Apple, which he has enjoyed modifying to improve their performance. He is an active parishioner at St. Kateri Tekakwitha, having travelled to Rome for her canonization in October of 2012. He has been singing in parishes in the Hudson Valley since the early 70s, and currently is a member of the Contemporary Choir at St. Kateri parish in LaGrangeville NY. His favorite pastimes are: Scrabble, Bridge, travel and Market investing. He was a co-founder of the Grasshoppers Flying Club based at Dutchess County Airport, established in 1971 and still active. A former certified Ski Instructor, he looks forward to resuming skiing later this year following his 73th birthday!
Ed Haege, Co-Chairmen Ed Haege is a parishioner at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction. He is the parish’s Respect Life Coordinator and a member of the Tri-Parish Respect Life Committee, which includes St. Columba and St. Kateri Tekawitha. The committee promotes a culture of life from conception to natural death through peaceful gatherings in the public square, prominent guest speakers, and social media. Ed also serves on the Advisory Council and volunteers for Emmanuel House International, a pregnancy center that provides support for Moms and Moms-to-Be struggling with unplanned pregnancies. While attending Pace University, where he studied Journalism, Ed worked in professional radio as an announcer and news correspondent. Since college, he has worked in the construction industry as a reporter, sales estimator, and software product manager. Ed and his wife Lorna will be celebrating their 25 th wedding anniversary in October.
Steve Shultis
Steve Shultis, a seasoned radio broadcast engineer has worked in the radio field for over 30 years, most recently serving as Chief Technology Officer for a New York City radio station cluster. For NYCR, he leads the technology committee and for which he is happy to share his knowledge and help build a team of inspired radio media operators. Steve and his wife, a professional liturgical musician. raised and homeschooled their five children in the Hudson Valley and are parishioners of St. Columba parish.
Sara Cassieri, Secretary
Sara Cassieri is a student at Mount Saint Mary College studying Publishing and Biblical Studies. She is thrilled to be a part of New York Catholic Radio and see it grow. Sara serves on WJVQ as secretary.
